A Big Problem Marriage

Marriage is a big problem in my case because many people ask me "Why didn't you marry?" Actually, I didn't escape it but didn't meet my girl. However, they didn't understand it and said to me that you needed to try more and more.

What is more and more? I mean that if I meet my girl, I can try more and more. How can I try more and more if I can't see my girl? I believe that my match made in heaven is somewhere and someday I meet her. Yes, that's it.

I don't know where she live and what she seems like. the only one thing that I can try to do is that I do my best in my life. What else can I do?

My Grandfather Dead

My grandfather died on Nov. 17. I went to Sokcho to attend a funeral ceremony and had been in funeral home for 3 days. he had many family: 5 sons, 3 daughters, and 24 grandchildren. So, many people came to his funeral and I thought that he should have been in a successful life.

I saw undertaker decorate my grandfather with Korean traditional clothes. He gave my relatives the last chance to say goodbye and my uncles, aunts, and cousins faced to him and said something but I couldn't do nothing......

However, I felt something great from his life and thank God for getting my grandfather's love.

Where Are You Attached?

What you are attached to is very important in Korea. Sometimes somebody is not defined as a private person but as a member of a certain group in Korea. In some respects, it is nonsense because I am what I am. Actually many Korean young people recently want to be judged by their personality but so far Korean people think them as a member of a certain group.

For example, the powerful evaluation standard used by Korean society is an academic clique. Many western countries are in the same situation but in Korea it is more serious. So, clearly it is a big problem and many people tried to solve this problem and is trying but it is not hopeful because many Korean people think education to be the only resource that improves and leads Korea to an advanced country. It is means that they think the competition of students for attending a top university to be only the solution of improvement for Korea.

In the other domains, a situation is the same like an academic clique. Maybe we can assume that this situation is from the extreme situation of Korea with high desire for the growth of economy in spite of low natural resources. So, as long as you live in Korea, you can't escape the question "Where are you attached?"

My Student's Big Test

I have teached a student in the last year of high school for one year. He will take the College Scholastic Ability Test in a few days. I want him to get a good score in the test.

Actually, he is not good at his study because he was late to start school work compared with others. Especially, he is not good at mathmatics because his foundations in mathmatics was very weak. So, I tried to set the good foundations of mathmatics and he worked very hard.

I believe that effort never betrays us and he will get a good job at the test.

The Choice of America on Education

American people choosed the change of America and specially the paradigm shift of education. It means that Obama promised the innovation of public education and he'll stragically invest money in public schools that are in poor educational facilities.

He emphasized that good students came from good teachers. So, He wants to develop the qualities of a teacher and give a support to teachers.

It doesn't mean that he will support teachers with no improvement inspite of his support program. His plan includes replacing them with good ones. I think that it's nice and we need to learn his mind on education.
